 ZIP! ZING!  ZAP!!

ZINFANDELS-A-PLENTY!!

This weekend in San Francisco the huge ZAP ( Zinfandel Advocates & Producers) tasting happens & we decided to have our own ZAP tasting at Creekside Cellars. We’re showcasing at least 6 big, suave, extra fruity, thick & jammy Zins from different Calif. appellations. It’s a real treat to compare these yummy zinfandels from Paso Robles, Sierra Foothills, Napa, Sonoma & Lodi. Haywood,Dillian Ranch,Ancient Peaks, Brown, & Valdez are some of the wineries being poured. We’ll have a few white wines as well to enhance the tasting plus we’ll serve Beechers Truckle,  a big aged cheddar cheese from Washington & more to round things out. Join us for our once a year Zinfandels-A Plenty tasting this weekend at Creekside Cellars!

 Go For It!

This is a wine tasting made for the open-minded, the adventerous and those who root for the underdog! Wines and cheese that you may not taste all the time but have always wanted to. For instance come try a lush Viognier from Washington, a rich, round complex and slightly oaky Chardonnay from South Africa or a juicy Malbec from Argentina. Make sure you save room for a glass of the Primitivo from Italy and “The Climber” a robust blend of 5 varietals from Napa’s Clif Family Winery. A 100%Cabernet Franc from the El Dorado Hills named “The Scrapper”from Vinum Cellars is a must try for sure! This wine’s crazy good with tons of varietal character — woodsy tannins, touch of green pepper, vials of violets — that’s also packed with plenty of great plum, cassis and savory notes of leather and mocha, all in a memorable package. With plenty of grip and acid, enjoyed over a meal, it gets better by the minute and has the depth to age 5 - 10 years, too. Castelbelbo, a soft ripened cow’s milk cheese form Italy will show off along with the Maytag Blue from Iowa.  Take a plunge and come try intriguing yet delicious wines and cheese next week with us!
